Jane Curry Advisory offers expert advice to aspiring writers and published authors.

Jane is passionate about equity of access to the world of arts and culture.

She consults with aspiring writers and published authors through Jane Curry Advisory and can be heard discussing all things books with co-host Seana Smith on The Publisher and Writer Podcast.

Jane started her publishing career straight after university in England, securing her first publishing job writing captions at London’s iconic Time Life Books.

Her career brought her to Australia where at age 27 she became Managing Director of Weldon Publishing, Lansdowne Publishing, Macquarie Library and National Book Distributors. Jane has also been CEO of UK listed Quarto PLC’s Asia Pacific division with responsibility for China, SE Asia and ANZ.

Jane has extensive international book trade experience securing significant export sales in New York, Warsaw, Kuala Lumpur and Beijing to name a few. She is a regular attendee at all the major book fairs: Frankfurt, London, and Beijing.

She is a former director of the Australian Publishers Association, where she headed the Independent Publishers Committee for seven years, initiating the inaugural visit by the IPC at the Beijing Book Fair. And she is also a former director of the Brisbane Writers Festival.

Currently, Jane is an elected director of the Copyright Agency and also sits on the advisory board of Rupert Myer’s Arts and Culture think-tank A New Approach.
